Congratulations, San Antonio! The League of Independent Voters now has a local chapter growing in San Antonio!
More congratulations! Seventeen (17) candidates currently running for San Antonio City Council and Mayor have endorsed our call for passage of the Vista Ridge Resolution -- found here.
In short, the Vista Ridge Resolution calls for clarification of “the role of San Antonio Water System (SAWS), and its need for more openness and transparency, requiring an independent managerial, legal and financial review of the Vista Ridge Project.”
Additional candidates are likely to sign on to this over the coming days through the end of early voting next Tuesday, April 30th. Watch for them if you don't mind voting later or on Election Day, Saturday, May 4th. But, if you have questions, feel free to reply to this message or to give Ellen Berky, LIV's San Antonio Board Member a call at 210.737.8421.
HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP (and have some fun, too)
►Sign (if you haven't yet) and ask others to sign our Vista Ridge/End Pay to Play Petition online here.
►Join us at the Early Polls where we're collecting signatures. Though we do not endorse candidates, we are letting voters know which candidates support our efforts. Call or reply for our daily schedule.
►Join us at the Battle of the Flowers starting at 8 am on Friday. Look for our petitioners outside the First Aide Station #1 near the portable restroom area here.
