The Big Squeeze LIV Virtual Forum
May 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm CDTFree
The League of Independent Voters presents the Big Squeeze forum to bring together two looming issues in Texas -- the mismanagement of what we cannot live without -- energy and water.
The monumental (and largely ignored) dispute in communities living over the most sought after groundwater in Texas just 40 miles east of the Capitol Dome -- involving 5 groundwater districts and the home of the mistaken Vista Ridge water pipeline -- is coming to a head.
The main topic of this forum -- on the Big Squeeze -- has to do with the "Desired Future Conditions" (DFCs) being set right now by groundwater districts charged with regulation of our most precious resource.
These speakers will be on the line to update you:
- LIV advisor and "doctor of democracy", Mark Miller, will give an update on The Big Freeze
- LIV Advisory, Michele Gangnes, a founder of the non-profit Simsboro Aquifer Water Defense Fund will talk about the DFCs for us regular folk
