Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District Special Meeting
September 10, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
THE LOCATION OF THIS MEETING IS ACTUALLY CHANGED FROM BASTROP TO THE AMERICAN LEGION HALL IN GIDDINGS 1502 U.S. 77, Giddings, TX 78942
Please disregard previous notices -- IT IS NOT AT THE BASTROP CONVENTION CENTER!
We need your help to get the word out, as the meeting notice changed after it went to print in local papers! Use the share buttons on this page or print out our flier -- whatever means you have to spread the word, please!
The Lost Pines GCD will make a decision on two very important issues for local groundwater control at this specially called meeting:
1. Will landowners in Lee and Bastrop counties (Darwyn Hanna, Bette Brown and Andrew Meyer) be given "party status" -- a voice in the dispute between Aqua Water Supply Corporation and End Op, LP on what happens with End Op's permit application for 46,000 acre feet per year of groundwater from the Simsboro formation of the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer, and
2. Will End Op, LP receive approval for their permit and for how much water?
The Lost Pines GCD has already been sued by Forestar Real Estate Group -- while the state representative that represents Lee and Bastrop County, Rep. Tim Kleinschmidt, sold his water rights to Forestar and is looking the other way.
The battle for local control is on!
