Your attendance, especially if you live in Burleson or Milam County, is needed at this public hearing related to Vista Ridge. This is especially true for well owners -- you can be recognized as an "affected" party at this meeting.
Folks in Lee County are also likely affected and even some in Bastrop County! The Vista Ridge mega-permit of 50,000 acre-feet spells for well drawdowns that far, folks. Who will pay to lower your well as a result of the pumping. No one, that's who.
However, know that to contest a permit, you must file papers before September 26th. That's how the rules work at Post Oak Savannah but there's no rule that doesn't say you cannot lodge a complaint.
The Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District is the district that permitted the controversial Vista Ridge water pipeline -- aka 'the San Antone Hose'.
They are holding a hearing on October 3 to amend some of the existing permits for Vista Ridge for an additional nearly 5,000 acre-feet. Why? We have no clue...yet.
For more information, visit the notice at Post Oak Savannah GCD's siteĀ posted here.
