Stop Vista Ridge, End Op and Forestar Water Grabs!
October 17, 2015 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am CDTFree
THIS EVENT IS CANCELED DUE TO THE BASTROP FIRES. We will be at the Bastrop Library at 2:30 just in case you do show up. If you have a laptop and 1-2 hours to put in, we can use your help.
Meanwhile, this event will be rescheduled soon after the fires are gone!
This meeting is in the city of Bastrop and the Bastrop Library (1100 Church Street) on Saturday, October 17, starting at 2:30 pm. A 25-minute video about the Vista Ridge water project will be shown at the beginning of this event, followed by discussion that will include other "mega-water-contracts" in play in the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District (Bastrop and Lee counties).
This is both an educational and organizing event. There will be plenty of time to discuss strategy on what we, as a community, can do to protect our land and water for future generations.
This meeting will have three segments:
1. What is Vista Ridge (explained through a short video.)
2. What is happening with water in this area of the pipeline and what can we do about it?
3. To inform landowners about their property rights and eminent domain threats for this pipeline.
4. What about other mega-permit water grabs by End Op LP and Forestar Real Estate Group.
This is a free event! (Though we will be asking for a suggested $10 donation for these terrific yard signs that goes towards more signs.)
If you want a large sign (4' x 4' or 4' x 8') visit our sign order page here.
